Milling tools
By milling we mean the application of slots, grooves and edges in, for example, wood, metal or plastic, but also in a stone wall or concrete floor. A wall chaser (also called a trenching machine) contains two grinding wheels that run parallel to each other. With a trencher you shape pipes and (electrical cables) neatly and professionally.
Looking for a milling machine?
Looking for a machine that makes slots in various types of material? A trenching machine is a handy machine that helps you get rid of cables and pipes, among other things.
What is a trencher?
A trenching machine is an electrical device with two grinding wheels running parallel next to each other. In addition to these two grinding wheels, a trench cutter has a milling surface or milling foot. This is a plane that you can place against the wall or floor and guide your trencher along the wall. A trench cutter is used to cut grooves in walls and floors in order to, for example, hide pipes and (electrical) cables in a neat and professional manner.

Diamond disk slitting machine
It‘s important that the wall chaser is equipped with two strong grinding wheels. After all, you never know exactly what’s behind a layer of plaster on a wall. Because not all grinding wheels are suitable for a hard surface such as concrete, we always recommend trencher diamond wheels. When purchasing one of our wall cutters, two diamond disks are supplied by default. The advantage of diamond disks is that they can be used for cutting (in) concrete, stones, decorative paving, ceramic tiles and roof tiles.
Preparation milling with a trench cutter
When you choose to use a wall milling machine, good preparation is recommended. First of all, you clean the wall or floor you’re going to mill and mark where the slots should be. Tip: a spirit level is not an unnecessary luxury. A lot of dust is usually released during milling. The VONROC trencher has a handy vacuum cleaner connection, so you ensure easy dust collection.
In a nutshell:
1. Draw a perpendicular line on your wall where the slot should be
2. Place the left or right grinding wheel on the line
3. Turn on the engine
4. Move the wall chaser down.
We always recommend working from top to bottom as the weight of the machine cooperates in this way.
